Thin Lizzy è un gruppo hard rock irlandese formatosi a Dublino nel 1969. I membri fondatori furono il chitarrista Eric Bell, l'organista Eric Wrixon, il cantante e bassista Philip Lynott e il batterista Brian Downey. Il gruppo ha raggiunto la fama internazionale negli anni '70 con un sound caratterizzato da riff di chitarra potente, melodie orecchiabili e testi spesso ispirati alla mitologia irlandese. Tra i brani più famosi ci sono "The Boys Are Back in Town", "Jailbreak" e "Whiskey in the Jar". Lynott è considerato una figura iconica del rock, noto per il suo carisma e la sua voce potente. Thin Lizzy ha pubblicato numerosi album di successo, tra cui "Fighting" (1974), "Nightlife" (1974) e "Bad Reputation" (1977). Il gruppo si è sciolto nel 1983 dopo la morte di Lynott, ma ha continuato ad avere un seguito fedele negli anni successivi.
