Harold Melvin (Filadelfia, 1942 – Filadelfia, 1977) è stato un cantante e musicista statunitense, noto soprattutto come frontman del gruppo soul Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes. La sua voce potente e melodiosa ha contribuito a rendere il gruppo uno dei più influenti della scena soul degli anni '70. Tra i successi di Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes ricordiamo "If You Don't Know Me by Now", brano diventato un classico del genere, e "The Love I Lost". Melvin è stato anche un importante collaboratore con l'artista Teddy Pendergrass, che ha sostituito come cantante principale del gruppo nel 1976. La sua eredità musicale continua a influenzare artisti di soul e R and B contemporanei.
