Spring Awakening è un musical rock vincitore di numerosi Tony Awards, musicato da Duncan Sheik con libretto e testi di Steven Sater. La storia si basa sulla controversa pièce teatrale *Risveglio di primavera* (1891) di Frank Wedekind, esplorando temi come l'adolescenza, la sessualità, la ricerca di identità e il conflitto tra le generazioni. Il musical debutta a Off-Broadway nel 2006, ottenendo un immediato successo critico e commerciale.
