Catatonia è stata una rock band alternative gallese che ha raggiunto una popolarità nazionale nel Regno Unito a metà e alla fine degli anni '90. Il gruppo era composto da Cerys Matthews al canto, Mark Roberts alla chitarra, Paul Jones al basso (entrambi ora membri di Y Ffyrc, ex membri di Sherbet Antlers e Y Cyrff), Owen Powell (giudice di 'Wawffactor' - simile a un X Factor gallese) alla chitarra e Aled Richards (ora batterista di Amy Wadge) alla batteria. Matthews e Roberts erano gli autori principali delle canzoni. La band faceva parte della scena musicale di Cardiff.
