Funkadelic è stato un gruppo musicale statunitense di funk e rock attivo principalmente negli anni settanta. Originari di Plainfield, nel New Jersey, sono noti per aver contribuito in modo significativo alla nascita della cultura funk dell'epoca. Il gruppo era guidato dal carismatico George Clinton, che ha anche fondato il progetto parallelo Parliament. Le sonorità di Funkadelic erano caratterizzate da un mix di funk, rock psichedelico e jazz, con testi spesso satirici e socialmente impegnati. Tra i brani più rappresentativi si ricordano «Maggot Brain», «One Nation Under a Groove» e «Cosmic Slop». Funkadelic ha collaborato con numerosi artisti, tra cui Bootsy Collins e Bernie Worrell, e ha lasciato un'impronta indelebile sulla musica funk e sul panorama musicale degli anni '70.
