Big Country è stata una rock band scozzese proveniente da Dunfermline, Fife. Attiva dal 1981 al 2005, ha raggiunto la popolarità negli anni '80 con un sound caratterizzato dall'influenza della musica folk tradizionale scozzese e militare. Il gruppo era noto per il suo uso innovativo di chitarre, che riproducevano l'effetto degli strumenti tradizionali come le cornamuse, i violini e le flaute. Tra i brani più rappresentativi figurano "In a Big Country", "Fields of Fire" e "Wonderland". L'album di debutto omonimo del 1983 ha segnato un punto di svolta nella musica rock, introducendo elementi folk in modo originale e accattivante.
