Gli Stetsasonic sono stati un gruppo musicale hip hop di Brooklyn, New York, formatosi nel 1981. Considerati uno dei primi gruppi hip hop ad aver integrato una band live nelle loro performance, hanno anticipato l'emergere dell'alternative hip hop e del jazz rap. Il loro sound era caratterizzato da ritmi complessi, influenze jazz e un approccio sperimentale al genere. Tra i brani più rappresentativi figurano "Talkin' All That", "The World Is Yours" e "Just A Little Bit". L'album di debutto "In Full Gear" (1988) è considerato un classico del movimento alternative hip hop. Gli Stetsasonic hanno collaborato con artisti come De La Soul e Public Enemy, contribuendo a plasmare l'evoluzione dell'hip hop negli anni '80.
