The Vapors sono una band new wave e power pop britannica attiva dal 1979 al 1982, con un breve revival a partire dal 2016. Originari di Leicester, in Inghilterra, il gruppo è noto per il suo sound energico e melodico, influenzato da artisti come The Cars e Blondie. Il loro album di debutto, "Magnets", pubblicato nel 1980, ha raggiunto un discreto successo commerciale grazie al singolo "Turning Japanese", che è diventato un classico del genere new wave. La band si è sciolta nel 1982 a causa di contrasti interni e problemi di droga. Nel 2016, i membri originali si sono riuniti per una serie di concerti e hanno pubblicato un nuovo album, "The Vapors", che ha riscosso un buon riscontro da parte dei fan. Oltre a "Turning Japanese", altri brani rappresentativi del gruppo includono "News at Ten" e "Prisoners of the Night".
