Edward James Kendrick, meglio conosciuto come Eddie Kendricks, è stato un cantante e compositore statunitense. Nato a Birmingham, Alabama, il 19 gennaio 1939, Kendricks ha iniziato la sua carriera musicale negli anni '50 con The Primes, un gruppo vocale locale. Nel 1961 si unì ai The Temptations, diventando uno dei cantanti principali del gruppo e contribuendo a definire il loro sound distintivo. Con i Temptations, Kendricks ha raggiunto il successo internazionale con numerosi successi, tra cui "The Way You Do the Things You Do", "Get Ready" e "Just My Imagination (Running Away with Me)". Il suo falsetto morbido e melodioso è diventato un elemento caratteristico del gruppo. Nel 1971, Kendricks ha lasciato i Temptations per intraprendere una carriera solista. Ha pubblicato diversi album di successo negli anni '70 e '80, tra cui "Eddie Kendricks" (1972) e "Keep On Truckin'" (1974). Kendricks è stato introdotto nella Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nel 1989 come membro dei The Temptations. È morto il 5 ottobre 2003 a Los Angeles, California.
