The Stranglers sono un gruppo musicale britannico formatosi a Guildford nel 1974. Il loro sound, inizialmente definibile come punk rock, ha subito influenze post-punk, new wave e progressive rock, creando un'identità sonora unica e riconoscibile. I membri fondatori erano Hugh Cornwell (chitarra, voce), Jet Black (batteria), Jean-Jacques Burnel (basso) e Hans Warmling (tastiere, chitarra). Quest'ultimo venne presto sostituito da Dave Greenfield, che rimase con il gruppo fino alla sua morte nel 2020. I The Stranglers hanno raggiunto un grande successo negli anni '70 e '80 con brani come "Golden Brown", "Always the Sun" e "No More Heroes". Sono noti per le loro performance dal vivo energiche e i testi spesso provocatori e ironici. La band ha pubblicato oltre 15 album in studio, consolidando la propria posizione di gruppo culto nel panorama musicale britannico.
