Waiting's just a part of the trouble you take.
I wanna make somebody who is just like me,
Who is lost for a little touch.
Smell you in the thread of the clothes that I wear.
I rip and tear to get to the deeper part of the person I can
Escape, but I can't catch.
I remember locking the legs around feet
And that shitty street in the house where the sun
Burned through the bare windows all day long.
Tearing up the line between trouble and fun,
We ran, we run in circles
Where the cleanest part of the dirty curve
Is the moment locked in song.
Because the day I met you,
You were running from a life in hiding.
And then the way I met you,
You used to just come at me like waves.
Until the sea got angry.
It swallowed us and started fighting.
Through all the rain and lighting,
I used to just swim across those days.
And I want to swim back.
I wanna swim back, back, back.
I wanna swim back.
I wanna swim back, back, back.
Tell it to the ears of the vices you choose.
You fight, you lose to a war against a world that turns A cheek to a loving embrace.
Take it to the wilderness, hide it in the bushes.
This soil, rocks and bushes
It understands the need for another face against your soft face.
Because the day I met you,
You were running from a life in hiding.
And then the way I met you,
You used to just come at me like waves.
Until the sea got angry,
It swallowed us and started fighting.
Through all the rain and lightning.
And I still remember that first night.
Oh, you were shaking like a honey bee,
Living on a honey tree
That was young and able just like me.
But we made each other that way.
And we can lose it all.
Cross-pollinated field that is flush with hidden fruit.
And I will eat it up, no spoon or cup.
You must learn to lose these things if you wanna be free.
If you wanna be free-ee
If you wanna be free
If you want to be free, free.
Wanna be free.
If you wanna be free-ee.
Wanna be free
If you wanna be free, free.
Wanna be free.
If you wanna be free-ee.
Wanna be...
