Cats è un celebre musical in due atti composto nel 1981 da Andrew Lloyd Webber con testi tratti dalle poesie di Thomas Stearns Eliot, *Il libro dei gatti tuttofare*. La storia segue le avventure di una colonia felina chiamata "The Jellicles" durante la loro festa annuale, il "Jellicle Ball", dove un gatto verrà scelto per risorgere a nuova vita. Il musical è famoso per le sue coreografie innovative e i costumi spettacolari, che creano un'atmosfera magica e surreale. Tra le canzoni più famose ci sono *Memory*, *The Jellicle Song for the Jellicles* e *Mr. Mistoffelees*. Cats ha riscosso un enorme successo mondiale, diventando uno dei musical più longevi di tutti i tempi con oltre 8.947 rappresentazioni a Londra e New York.
