The sun was fading, the smell of love in the air
When I passed her I knew something was there
Tried to catch her but she got lost in the crowd
Tried to call her but the music was loud
Checked out the tables, the people on the dance floor
I searched my memory for the clothes that she wore
A yellow sweater and some faded blue jeans
Dingy sneakers and expensive earrings
Just like a detective and that was my evidence that she existed, that she was in present tense
She had caught me like a fish in a net
She didn't know it, she hadn't checked her catch yet (She didn't yet)
Just right for tonight, so young and so hot
Don't care if it takes all the money I've got
Ain't got the time, got nothing to say but I'll lie awake and think about her someday
The club was closing, the bouncer told me to go
I was reluctant and I politely said so
He grabbed my shoulder and threw me right through the door
I hollered "Thank you!", he called my mother a whore
It'd been a bad night, it shouldn't end up like this
It'd been a bad night, I needed someone to kiss
Then just like magic, as I was rubbing my head
I heard some laughter and then a gentle voice said, "Come on get up, been trying to find you all night"
I saw her smiling as she walked into the light
She held her hand out and we both started to grin
We had that one night, I never saw her again, never saw her again
Just right for tonight, so young and so hot
Don't care if it takes all the money I've got
Ain't got the time, got nothing to say but I'll lie awake and think about her someday, alright
Don't you know, (Just right, just right) she's just right for tonight, so young and so hot
Don't care what kind of future we got
Ain't got no time, got nothing to say but I'll lie awake and think about her someday
(Just right, just right) Just right for tonight, so young and so hot
Don't care what kind of future we got
Ain't got no time, got nothing to say but I'll lie awake and think about that girl someday
(Just right, just right) Just right for tonight
She got, no, got no future; I'm thinking, future in sight
Ain't got no time, got nothing to say but I'll lie awake and think about that girl someday
(Just right, just right) Just right for tonight
She got, she got, she got, she got, what I need tonight
Got nothing to say but I'll lie awake and think about that girl someday
(Just right, just right) Just hold on
Just love, just hot mamma, gonna feel alright
Got no time, got nothing to say but I'll lie awake and kiss some of that girl someday
(Just right, just right) Just right for tonight, you're so
(It's so hot, I know you care)
