David Van Cortlandt Crosby (Los Angeles, 14 agosto 1941 – Santa Monica, 18 gennaio 2023) è stato un chitarrista, cantautore e musicista statunitense. Considerato uno dei pilastri della musica folk-rock americana, Crosby ha raggiunto fama internazionale come membro fondatore dei Byrds negli anni '60, gruppo che ha contribuito a definire il suono del folk rock con successi come "Mr. Tambourine Man" e "Turn! Turn! Turn! (To Everything There Is a Season)". Dopo la sua esperienza con i Byrds, Crosby ha formato un duo di successo con Stephen Stills e Graham Nash, noto come Crosby, Stills and Nash. Il trio ha pubblicato alcuni degli album folk-rock più influenti degli anni '70, tra cui "Déjà Vu" (1970) e "4 Way Street" (1971), caratterizzati da armonie vocali impeccabili e testi introspettivi. Crosby ha continuato a registrare musica in solitario e con diverse formazioni musicali fino alla fine della sua carriera, lasciando un'eredità significativa nella storia della musica americana.
