The Rasmus sono un gruppo musicale rock alternativo finlandese formatosi a Helsinki nel 1994. Il gruppo, inizialmente noto come Rasmus, ha cambiato nome all'atto della firma del contratto con la casa discografica svedese Playground. La formazione originale comprendeva Lauri Ylönen (voce), Pauli Rantasalmi (chitarra), Eero Heinonen (basso) e Jarno Lahti (batteria). Il loro stile musicale, caratterizzato da sonorità dark rock e melodie orecchiabili, ha conquistato un seguito internazionale. Il successo è arrivato con l'album *Into* del 2001, che ha raggiunto la vetta delle classifiche finlandesi e ha lanciato il singolo *In the Shadows*, diventato un inno per gli appassionati di rock alternativo. Altri album importanti includono *Dead Letters* (2003) e *Black Roses* (2008). The Rasmus hanno collaborato con artisti come HIM e Apocalyptica, contribuendo a definire la scena musicale finlandese degli anni 2000.
