Ian Dury e i Blockheads sono un gruppo musicale britannico attivo tra gli anni '70 e '80. Fondato da Ian Dury, cantante, musicista e poeta, il gruppo è noto per la sua musica ska-punk con influenze di rockabilly e cabaret. Dury, nato a Harrow nel 1942, ha subito un'infanzia segnata da una poliomielite che gli ha causato una paralisi permanente alla gamba destra. Questo evento ha profondamente influenzato il suo percorso artistico, alimentando la sua ironia e la sua capacità di raccontare storie dal punto di vista di chi è diverso. I Blockheads, con Chaz Jankel al pianoforte e Mickey Gallagher all'organo, hanno accompagnato Dury in un viaggio musicale che ha attraversato temi sociali, politici e personali con una vena di umorismo nero e una grande energia live. Tra i loro album più importanti ricordiamo *New Boots and Panties*** (1977), *Do It Yourself* (1979) e *Laughter* (1980). I brani più celebri del gruppo includono *Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick*, *Reasons to Be Cheerful, Part 3* e *Wake Up and Make Love with Me*.
