The Soviettes sono state un gruppo pop punk di Minneapolis, formatosi nel 2001. Il quartetto era composto da Annie (chitarra), Sturgeon (chitarra), Susy (basso) e Danny (batteria), che si alternavano alla voce. Il loro sound, caratterizzato da riff energici e testi ironici e sarcastici, ha conquistato un seguito di appassionati nel circuito punk underground americano. Tra i brani più rappresentativi figurano «The Ballad of the Soviettes», «I'm a Communist» e «We Are The Future». La band ha pubblicato due album in studio: «The Soviettes» (2003) e «Red Star Rising» (2005). Dopo una serie di tour intensi, i The Soviettes si sono sciolti nel 2007.
