i took to faces shooting stills and places
i took nudes of our youngest boy
I took two years to take his name over
i beat blank with blank's toy
i'd sing your praises to the devil's face
but even fire couldn't dry you out
you wouldn't know a good shot if you drank one
Then throws up throws punches throws everybody out
shut up and while we're on the subject
of endless me and the what's i've done
i didn't raise my boy to be your snapshot toy
not for you, not my son
And as he made his point, he opened up my eye:
We're off and running
North to Nothing, yeah
I would not miss him
as perfect as he ****
bet bottom dollar said as night day follows
ain't a thought you can call your ownjust to vary someone's variation
to reshow what's been shown
(_Aaaah_)
a call to mothers and my fast ex-lovers
had the boys packing out by ten
we moved in with earl and his own two girls
i took photographs of spirograph--oh let's begin again
but then earl kept having nightmares
about being tamed by dogs and fence
and when the agents came and asked for him by name
well those dreams they made sense
Just when I'm used to him he has to go bye-bye...
We're off and running
North to Nothing, yeah
I don't miss him
as perfect as he ****
When dark came
When dark came
When dark came
When dark came
[Just when I'm used to him, he has to go bye-bye]
And i wrote and i've called you for wednesdays now
that's what the note tacked on to earl's door said
and i hard cried my way down the hall
i'll go south, i'll go south more ways than one
I'll probably need some cash to get started and so
i sold your pictures that won
love, Ann
(ps. i understand your man friend has turned up missing)
We're off and running
North to Nothing, yeah
I would not miss him
as perfect as he ****
And then dark came
And then dark came
And then dark came
And then dark came

Tra i brani più rappresentativi si ricordano "She Sends Kisses", "The Meadowlands" e "In the Air".
