Gli Scritti Politti sono un gruppo musicale britannico formatosi a Cardiff, Galles, nel 1977. Il nucleo fondante era costituito da Hugh Cornwell (voce, chitarra) e Bruce Gilbert (chitarra). Il loro sound si caratterizza per una combinazione di post-punk, new wave e musica elettronica, spesso con testi politici e sociali. Tra i brani più noti figurano "Ashes to Ashes", "The Only Dance", e "Sex and Death". Gli Scritti Politti hanno pubblicato sette album in studio tra il 1978 e il 2005, ottenendo un discreto successo internazionale. Nel corso degli anni, la formazione del gruppo è cambiata diverse volte, con Cornwell come unico membro costante.
