Crack the Sky è un gruppo rock statunitense formatosi nel 1975 a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Conosciuti per il loro sound progressivo e sperimentale, hanno pubblicato diversi album tra cui "Crack the Sky", "Animal Notes / Safety in Numbers", "Crack the Sky/White Music" e "The Sale". Il gruppo è stato attivo fino al 1983, riprendendo l'attività negli anni '90. Tra i brani più rappresentativi si ricordano "I Don't Want to Be a Hero", "You Can't Stop the Rain" e "The Last Time I Saw You". Crack the Sky ha collaborato con artisti come Todd Rundgren e David Bowie, influenzando generazioni di musicisti progressive.
