Christine Lavin è una cantautrice e musicista folk americana, nota per il suo stile intimo e le canzoni ironiche e introspettive. Nata nel 1953, ha iniziato la sua carriera negli anni '80 con l'album d'esordio *Cold Pizza For Breakfast*. Tra i suoi album più apprezzati figurano *Happydance of the Xenophobe*, *Attainable Love* e *Beau Woes and Other Problems of Modern Life*. Lavin è anche membro del gruppo folk femminile Four Bitchin' Babes. Le sue canzoni, spesso caratterizzate da un umorismo sottile e una sensibilità poetica, hanno conquistato un pubblico affezionato negli Stati Uniti e in Europa. Tra i brani più rappresentativi di Christine Lavin si ricordano *The Ballad of the Broken Heart*, *I'm Not Your Girl* e *Love Is a Battlefield*.
