I Transvision Vamp sono stati una band alternative rock britannica attiva tra la fine degli anni '80 e l'inizio degli anni '90. Fondati nel 1986 da Wendy James (voce) e Nick Christian Sayer (chitarra), il gruppo ha raggiunto un discreto successo commerciale negli anni '80, grazie al loro sound energico e alle performance dal vivo carismatiche di James. La cantante, nota per la sua immagine provocatoria e sensuale, è diventata rapidamente una figura iconica della scena musicale britannica dell'epoca. Tra i brani più noti del gruppo ricordiamo "I Want Your Love", "Baby I Don't Care" e "The Only One". L'album di debutto, "Velveteen", pubblicato nel 1988, ha contribuito a consolidare il successo della band. Dopo alcuni cambiamenti nella formazione, i Transvision Vamp si sono sciolti nel 1992. Wendy James ha continuato la sua carriera musicale come solista.
