Lonnie Donegan (Glasgow, 29 aprile 1931 – 19 novembre 2002) è stato un cantante e musicista scozzese considerato il padre dello skiffle, un genere musicale popolare negli anni '50. Iniziò la sua carriera come membro del gruppo di musica folk The Skiffle Group, che si esibiva nei pub di Glasgow. Nel 1954, con il nome Lonnie Donegan and His Skiffle Group, ottenne un successo internazionale con il brano «Rock Island Line», una versione skiffle di una canzone tradizionale americana. Donegan divenne rapidamente uno dei musicisti più popolari del Regno Unito, vendendo milioni di dischi e influenzando generazioni di artisti rock 'n' roll. Il suo stile musicale era caratterizzato da un ritmo vivace, melodie orecchiabili e testi semplici ma divertenti. Donegan continuò a registrare musica fino alla fine degli anni '70, mantenendo un seguito di fan fedele.
