Emerson, Lake and Palmer (ELP) sono un gruppo rock progressivo britannico formatosi nel 1970. Il trio è composto da Keith Emerson (tastiere), Greg Lake (voce, basso) e Carl Palmer (batteria). Considerati uno dei primi supergruppi del progressive rock, ELP hanno raggiunto fama internazionale per i loro arrangiamenti orchestrali complessi, le performance energiche dal vivo e l'uso innovativo di strumenti elettronici. Tra gli album più importanti figurano *Emerson, Lake and Palmer* (1970), *Tarkus* (1971), *Pictures at an Exhibition* (1971) e *Brain Salad Surgery* (1973). Dopo un periodo di successo commerciale negli anni '70, ELP si sono sciolti nel 1978. Un breve reunion senza Palmer ha avuto luogo nel 1985 con il nome Emerson, Lake and Powell, seguito da una riunione completa nel 1992 che ha portato a nuovi album e tour fino alla fine degli anni '90. Alcuni dei brani più rappresentativi di ELP includono "Lucky Man", "Karn Evil 9", "Fanfare for the Common Man" e "Hoedown".

Nel 2023, oltre il 70% delle canzoni entrate nella Billboard Hot 100 aveva avuto un'origine virale su piattaforme social prima di ricevere attenzione radiofonica.
Il 28 aprile 1986 la cantante Graziella Franchini, in arte Lolita, veniva ritrovata esanime e sfigurata nella camera del residence di Lamezia Terme in cui viveva ormai da un pò di tempo. L'omicidio è rimasto privo di colpevoli.

E' prevista per la prossima estate l'uscita del docufilm "Iron Maiden's Lost Singer", che riguarda Paul Di'Anno, cantante degli Iron Maiden dal 1978 al 1981, che è venuto a mancare a fine 2024.
