Steel Prophet è una band di power metal statunitense formatasi nel Connecticut negli anni '80 e trasferitasi a Los Angeles. Il loro sound, caratterizzato da riff heavy, melodie epiche e un'influenza evidente del thrash metal, ha contribuito a definire l'evoluzione del genere power metal negli anni '90. Tra i brani più rappresentativi si ricordano "The Final Stand", "Blood of the Prophets" e "Steel Prophet". L'album di debutto omonimo (1990) è considerato un classico del genere, mentre il loro secondo lavoro, "The Second Coming" (1992), ha consolidato la loro posizione nel panorama metal internazionale.
