I Chameleons, noti anche come The Chameleons UK in alcuni paesi, sono una band post-punk formatasi a Middleton, Greater Manchester, Inghilterra, nel 1981. Il gruppo è composto da Mark Burgess (voce, chitarra), John Lever (chitarra), Reggenza (basso) e Stuart Goetzman (batteria). I Chameleons hanno raggiunto la popolarità negli anni '80 con un sound caratterizzato da atmosfere cupe, melodie introspettive e testi poetici. Tra i loro brani più noti figurano "Tears", "Swamp Thing" e "Script of the Bridge". L'album di debutto "Script of the Bridge" (1983) è considerato un classico del post-punk britannico. La band si è sciolta nel 1987, ma ha fatto ritorno con una reunion nel 2000. I Chameleons hanno influenzato numerose band alternative e indie degli anni '90 e 2000.
