È noto per il suo stile rap caratterizzato da melodie orecchiabili e testi che esplorano temi come la vita quotidiana, le relazioni e l'ascesa sociale. Ha raggiunto la fama nazionale con il mixtape "Rich Homie Quan" (2013), contenente il singolo di successo "Type of Way".
