Jason Derulo, nato Jason Joel Desrouleaux il 21 settembre 1989, è un cantante, cantautore, attore e ballerino statunitense. Dopo aver prodotto brani per diversi artisti e scritto canzoni per Cash Money Records, Birdman, Lil Wayne di Young Money Entertainment e Diddy, Derulo ha firmato con l'etichetta discografica Beluga Heights. Dopo che Beluga Heights è diventata parte del gruppo Warner Music Group, Derulo ha pubblicato il suo singolo di debutto, "Whatcha Say", nel maggio 2009. Il brano è diventato un enorme successo digitale, vendendo oltre cinque milioni di copie digitali, ottenendo una certificazione RIAA di doppio platino e raggiungendo la vetta delle classifiche negli Stati Uniti e in Nuova Zelanda.
