Jerry Reed Hubbard, noto semplicemente come Jerry Reed, è stato un cantautore, musicista e attore statunitense. Nato in Georgia nel 1937, ha iniziato la sua carriera musicale negli anni '60 come session man per artisti di Nashville. Nel corso degli anni '70, Reed ha raggiunto il successo con brani country-rock come "East Bound and Down", "When You're Hot, You're Hot" e "Guitar Man". La sua chitarra acustica era un elemento distintivo del suo sound, caratterizzato da una tecnica virtuosistica e uno stile unico. Oltre alla musica, Reed ha recitato in diversi film, tra cui il cult "Il bandito e la Madama" (1974) al fianco di Burt Reynolds. Reed è morto nel 2008 a causa di un attacco cardiaco. La sua eredità musicale continua ad ispirare generazioni di musicisti.
