The English Beat è stato un gruppo musicale ska britannico formatosi a Birmingham nel 1978. Il gruppo ha raggiunto il successo internazionale negli anni '80 con brani come "Mirror in the Bathroom", "Save It for Later" e "Can't Get Used to Losing You". La loro musica, caratterizzata da ritmi energici e testi ironici e sociali, ha contribuito a rilanciare la popolarità dello ska nel mondo. Dopo una serie di successi, il gruppo si è sciolto nel 1983 per poi riunirsi in diverse occasioni negli anni successivi. Tra i loro album più importanti ricordiamo "I Just Can't Stop It" (1980) e "Wha'ppen?" (1981).
