Botch è stata una band mathcore proveniente da Tacoma, nello stato di Washington. Formatasi nel 1993 e sciolta nel 2002, il gruppo ha contribuito a definire l'evoluzione del genere con un sound caratterizzato da cambiamenti ritmici complessi, riff distorti e vocalizzi aggressivi. Il loro album di debutto, *We Are the Romans*, pubblicato nel 1998, è considerato un classico del mathcore. Tra i brani più rappresentativi si ricordano "The Ballad of the Broken", "Anesthesia" e "Slang". Botch ha influenzato numerose band successive nell'ambito del metal progressivo e del hardcore.
