Magnolia Electric Co. è il progetto musicale di Jason Molina, cantautore statunitense noto per la sua musica introspettiva e malinconica. Attivo dal 2001 fino alla morte di Molina nel 2013, il gruppo ha pubblicato sei album in studio, tra cui "What Viene After" (2004) e "The World Is a Small Place" (2006). La musica di Magnolia Electric Co. è caratterizzata da arrangiamenti acustici semplici ma efficaci, testi poetici e la voce rauca e emotiva di Molina. Tra i brani più rappresentativi si ricordano "Come On Back", "So Long to the World" e "The Great Divide". Molina ha collaborato con numerosi artisti, tra cui The Songs: Ohia e Bonnie "Prince" Billy. La sua musica ha influenzato una generazione di cantautori indie.
