Babes in Toyland è stata una band punk rock femminile americana formatasi a Minneapolis, Minnesota nel 1987. Tra il 1990 e il 1995 la band ha registrato tre album in studio. Sebbene la band fosse un'ispirazione per molti artisti del movimento riot grrrl, non vi hanno mai partecipato direttamente. I membri includevano Kat Bjelland (voce e chitarra), Lori Barbero (batteria) e Michelle Leon (basso), sostituita da Maureen Herman nel 1992. Il loro sound era caratterizzato da un'energia bruta e una sonorità distorta, con testi spesso introspettivi e provocatori che affrontavano temi come la femminilità, l'indipendenza e la società.
