this town it has always had its memories,
emotions paved into the streets and floating in the air i breathe,
this town was meant for me,

it happened early in the summer of twenty one one,
we were standing on a street corner where we were not alone,
but it felt like just you and me,

we were the first to fall in love,
we were the first to fall apart,
but we were the lucky ones,
we were the lucky ones,

all we need,
is one last reason to believe,
that we can fall in love and fall apart again,

it wasn't long before i had to get on the road,
we were headed towards the east coast which used to be home,
but it's not home anymore,

cause you know what they say home is where the heart is,
while mine is wandering the streets of michigan,
and it's out there searching for you,

we were the first to fall in love,

but we were the lucky ones,

is one last reason to believe,

to let me know of what was going on and why you left,

from feature films about a laugh that sparked a love til they both passed,
and even if they're far away they always find a way it could last,
