John Kay and Steppenwolf è un gruppo rock tedesco-canadese attivo dal 1967. Fondato da John Kay, cantante e compositore di origine tedesca, e da Goldy McJohn, tastierista canadese, il gruppo ha raggiunto la fama internazionale negli anni '70 con brani come "Born to Be Wild", "Magic Carpet Ride" e "Rock Me" che hanno segnato un'epoca nel genere hard rock. La loro musica è caratterizzata da riff bluesy, testi provocatori e una forte carica energetica. John Kay and Steppenwolf ha pubblicato numerosi album di successo, tra cui "Steppenwolf" (1968), "At Your Doorstep" (1970) e "Slow Flux" (1972).
