Le Shonen Knife sono un gruppo musicale giapponese formatosi a Osaka nel 1981. Composto da sole donne, il trio si è affermato nell'ambito dell'indie rock e del punk pop, influenzato da band come i Ramones. Inizialmente conosciute come The Osaka Ramones, hanno dedicato alcuni concerti alla tribute dei leggendari newyorkesi. Il loro sound è caratterizzato da riff energici, melodie orecchiabili e testi spesso in giapponese che trattano temi infantili e pop-culture. Tra le canzoni più rappresentative figurano "Twist Barbie", "Banana Chips" e "Superstar". Le Shonen Knife hanno collaborato con artisti come The Breeders e Sonic Youth, partecipando a festival internazionali e guadagnandosi un seguito di appassionati in tutto il mondo.
