Albert Johnson, meglio conosciuto come Prodigy, è stato un rapper statunitense, membro fondatore del duo hip hop Mobb Deep. Nato a Queens, New York, nel 1977, Prodigy ha iniziato la sua carriera musicale all'età di 12 anni. Nel 1993, insieme al suo amico d'infanzia Havoc, ha formato Mobb Deep, con cui ha pubblicato alcuni dei dischi più influenti della storia dell'hip hop underground. Il loro album di debutto, *Juvenile Hell*, è stato un successo critico e commerciale, seguito da altri album come *The Infamous* (1995) e *H.N.I.C.* (2000). Prodigy era noto per le sue rime intricate, il suo flusso di coscienza e la sua capacità di raccontare storie realistiche e crude della vita nelle strade di Queens. Oltre al lavoro con Mobb Deep, Prodigy ha collaborato con artisti come Nas, Jay-Z e The Alchemist. Ha anche pubblicato album da solista, tra cui *H.N.I.C. 2* (2000) e *The Bumpy Ride* (2013). Prodigy è morto nel 2017 all'età di 42 anni a causa di un problema cardiaco. La sua eredità come uno dei rapper più influenti degli anni '90 rimane viva.
