Steve Earle è un cantautore, musicista e attore statunitense nato a Texas nel 1955. Considerato uno dei più importanti cantautori del folk rock americano, Earle ha una carriera di oltre quarant'anni caratterizzata da un sound che fonde country, blues, rock e punk. Le sue canzoni spesso trattano temi sociali come la povertà, la giustizia sociale e le lotte degli oppressi. Tra i suoi album più noti figurano "Guitar Town" (1986), "Copperhead Road" (1988) e "The Hard Way" (2009). Earle è anche un attore di successo, con ruoli in film come "The Apostle" (1997) e "Walled In" (2008). Tra i suoi brani più rappresentativi ricordiamo "Copperhead Road", "Guitar Town", "Ellis Unit One" e "I Feel Alright".
