The Police sono stati una delle band new wave più popolari degli anni '80, apprezzati per il loro sound pop con influenze reggae. Tra i loro singoli memorabili figurano "Roxanne", "Message in a Bottle" e "Every Breath You Take". Formata nel 1977 a Londra da Sting (voce, basso), Andy Summers (chitarra) e Stewart Copeland (batteria), la band ha raggiunto il successo internazionale con l'album "Outlandos d'Amour" del 1978. Il loro sound, caratterizzato da melodie orecchiabili, testi introspettivi e un mix di reggae, rock e pop, ha conquistato milioni di fan in tutto il mondo.
