Blackstreet è un gruppo R and B statunitense formatosi nel 1991 da Thomas R. Taliaferro Jr. e Teddy Riley, inventore del New Jack Swing noto per il suo lavoro come membro di Guy. Chauncey Hannibal e Levon Little sono stati ingaggiati sotto contratto con Thomas Taliaferro e sono stati integrati in quello che sarebbe diventato Blackstreet insieme a Joseph Stonestreet, con la partecipazione di Teddy Riley. I membri attuali sono Teddy Riley, Chauncey Hannibal, Dave Hollister, Mark Middleton ed Eric Williams. La formazione originale di Blackstreet comprendeva Teddy Riley, Chauncey Hannibal, Levi Little e Joseph Stonestreet. La formazione originale ha pubblicato il suo primo singolo nel 1993 per la colonna sonora del film CB4 con Chris Rock intitolato "Baby Be Mine", con Joseph Stonestreet al canto principale, prodotto da Teddy Riley e scritto da Teddy Riley e Joseph Stonestreet. Stonestreet ha però lasciato il gruppo poco dopo il rilascio del singolo a causa di divergenze personali con Riley ed è stato sostituito da Dave Hollister. Tra i brani più rappresentativi del gruppo ricordiamo "No Diggity" (1996), una collaborazione con Dr. Dre che ha raggiunto la vetta delle classifiche americane, e "Don't Leave Me" (1998).
