Of Montreal è un gruppo musicale statunitense formatosi nel 1996 a Athens, Georgia, dal visionario Kevin Barnes. Il nome del gruppo deriva da una storia d'amore di Barnes con una ragazza di Montréal che si concluse bruscamente. Barnes ha fondato la band dopo aver lasciato il precedente gruppo The Gerbils. Of Montreal è noto per il suo sound psichedelico e pop, caratterizzato da melodie orecchiabili, testi surreali e arrangiamenti complessi. La band è strettamente legata al collettivo Elephant 6, un movimento musicale indie rock degli anni '90 che ha dato vita a numerosi artisti underground. Nel corso della sua carriera, Of Montreal ha pubblicato oltre dieci album, tra cui "Hissing Fauna Are You the Destroyer?" (2007), considerato uno dei loro lavori più influenti e celebrati dalla critica. Altri album importanti includono "Satanic Panic in the Attic" (2005) e "Lousy with Sylvianbriar" (2010).
