Carly Elisabeth Simon (1945) è una cantautrice americana di grande successo, nota per la sua voce calda e melodie evocative. Iniziò la sua carriera negli anni '60, collaborando con artisti come James Taylor, suo marito all'epoca. Il suo album di debutto del 1971, "Carly Simon", conteneva il singolo "That's the Way I've Always Heard It Should Be", che le valse un successo immediato. Tra i suoi brani più famosi figurano "You're So Vain" (1972), una canzone enigmatica che ha generato numerose speculazioni sul suo soggetto, e "Anticipation" (1971).
