Hoobastank è un gruppo musicale statunitense formatosi in California nel 1994. Il gruppo è composto da Douglas Robb (voce, chitarra), Dan Estrin (chitarra), Chris Hesse (batteria) e Markku Lappalainen (basso). Dopo aver autoprodotto l'album "They Sure Don't Make Basketball Shorts Like They Used To" nel 1998, Hoobastank ha firmato con la Island Records nel 2000. Il loro album di debutto ufficiale, "The Reason", è uscito nel 2003 e ha raggiunto il successo internazionale grazie al singolo omonimo, che è diventato un classico del rock alternativo.
