Between The Buried And Me è un quintetto metal progressivo proveniente dalla Carolina del Nord, noto per la fusione di generi musicali ampia e variegata che spazia dal soft rock al jazz. Il nome della band deriva da una strofa del brano "Ghost Train" dei Counting Crows: ".Took the cannonball down to the ocean, Across the desert from the sea to shining sea, I rode a ladder that climbed across the nation, Fifty million feet of earth between the buried and me.". Attivi dal 2000, i BTBAM hanno pubblicato un'ampia discografia di album che hanno contribuito a definire il panorama del metal progressivo contemporaneo. Tra le loro opere più rappresentative si annoverano "Colors II" (2007), "The Great Misdirect" (2010) e "Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues" (2012). Il gruppo è apprezzato per la complessità musicale, le performance live energiche e l'influenza di diversi generi musicali.
