Sentenced è stata una band finlandese di doom/gothic metal attiva dal 1989 al 2005. Originaria di Muhos, la band ha iniziato con sonorità death metal per poi evolvere verso un sound più cupo e melodico. Tra i brani più rappresentativi si ricordano "Down With The Sickness", "The Suicidal Angels" e "Aeon." Sentenced ha pubblicato otto album in studio, tra cui l'acclamato "Frozen" del 1999. La morte del fondatore Miika Tenkula nel 2009 ha segnato la fine definitiva della band.
