Kool and the Gang è un gruppo musicale statunitense formatosi a Jersey City, New Jersey nel 1964. Inizialmente conosciuti come The Jazziacs, hanno attraversato diverse fasi nella loro carriera sperimentando vari generi musicali, dal jazz al soul, dal funk alla disco. I primi album erano caratterizzati da un sound R and B e funk, con influenze del jazz. Negli anni '70 si avvicinarono al genere fusion, ottenendo grande successo con brani come "Celebration", "Jungle Boogie" e "Get Down On It". Il loro stile musicale è sempre stato caratterizzato da arrangiamenti complessi, un groove irresistibile e testi positivi e incoraggianti. Kool and the Gang hanno venduto oltre 70 milioni di dischi in tutto il mondo, diventando uno dei gruppi musicali più influenti della storia. Tra i loro album più importanti ricordiamo "Wild and Peaceful" (1973), "Spirit of the Boogie" (1974) e "Ladies Night" (1981).
