Nickel Creek è un gruppo musicale acustico statunitense formatosi nel 1989. Il loro sound, definito da alcuni come "progressive acoustic" o "newgrass", fonde elementi di bluegrass con influenze country e indie rock. Il gruppo è composto da Chris Thile (mandolino, voce), Sara Watkins (violino, fiddle, voce) e Sean Watkins (chitarra, voce). Il loro debutto ufficiale, l'album *Nickel Creek* del 2000, prodotto da Alison Krauss, ha raggiunto il secondo posto nella Billboard Top Heatseekers chart. Tra i brani più rappresentativi si ricordano "When You Come Back to Me", "Reasons Why" e "The Lighthouse's Call".
