Originario di Jackson, Mississippi, ha frequentato la Southern University prima di emergere nel mondo musicale come metà del duo rap Crooked Lettaz. Nel 2000 ha debuttato da solista con "Them Firewater Boyz, Vol. 1" e nel 2003 ha firmato con Universal Records.
