I always heard the phrase
Happy wife happy life
I thought if I got my money right
And had enough time to hang out at night
Then maybe we'd get there
Then baby we got there and well
We never ate dinner in a fancy restaurant
That had cloth napkins we can't pass the salt
Never had a vacation with a passport
Stamps on it
We don't even know what that costs
Never saw Beyonce we can't get tix
Only my friends did they're on the guest list
We never had our own password for the Netflix
Never the whole suit only the separates
We never get name brand snacks and cereal
Only the big bag that's mysteri-o's
It doesn't mean that it's bad it's just out of date
Think about it hard our juice got to concentrate
The neighborhood I stay is just called round the way
The grocery store is like ten miles away
A whole lot of sirens at all time of day
Water in the shower never got hot right away
No new movie that day dollar show matinee
Big bag of fake snacks we take
No matter what they say it's rated the babies coming
Talking loud so the ushers are afraid to confront us
Got the long long face and short short temper
It's cold in the day and the night's not tender
Why we got together is hard to remember
I chalk it all up to how I could do better
Always thought you're too stressed to be in love
The ends never met and it was never enough
But then my success started levelling up
And every little thing got better but us
Everything got better but us
Everything got better but us
We fight and fuss
Everything got better but us
Everything got better but us
I had a nine to five and a six to ten
So I'm always on the job the bus or in the bed
Only must see tv is my eye lids
Never found time to find out who the father is
Or who ice t is investigating on
Or who judge Judy said was in the wrong
Who got the award or what they wore
Tryna make it out the door is my only sport
But now you're so bored and you're so lonely
I'm coming and going and you barely know me
You're too depressed for this household stress
I should do a load of laundry if I want to get dressed
But the next thing you know it all started to grow
I'm rocking the shows cash started to flow
And all I know is that you didn't get happy
How the hell a new addy got you so angry
But whatever that be it's entirely yours
I'm not the cause nor am I the cure
And these four walls are way too small
If there ain't no joy in store
That's because
You got the long long face and short short temper
It's cold in the day and the night's not tender
Why we got together is hard to remember
I chalk it all up to how I could do better
Always thought you're too stressed to be in love
The ends never met and it was never enough
But then my success started levelling up
And every little thing got better but us
Everything got better but us
And everything got better but us
We fight and fuss
Everything got better but us
Everything got better but us
Everything got better but us
We fight and cuss
Everything got better but us
Everything got better but us
That's from bk-one
Everything got better but us
Everything got better but us
