Days of the New è un gruppo rock alternativo proveniente da Louisville, Kentucky, formatosi nel 1995. Il nucleo del gruppo è costituito dal cantante e chitarrista Travis Meeks, affiancato da una serie di musicisti che cambiano nel corso degli anni. La band ha raggiunto la notorietà con i singoli "Touch, Peel and Stand" e "Shelf in the Room", entrambi tratti dall'album d'esordio omonimo del 1997. L'album debutto è stato un successo commerciale, vendendo oltre un milione di copie negli Stati Uniti. Il sound dei Days of the New si caratterizza per atmosfere cupe e introspettive, con influenze grunge e post-grunge. Meeks è noto per il suo stile vocale potente e drammatico, spesso accompagnato da testi che esplorano temi come la solitudine, l'alienazione e la ricerca di identità. Dopo il successo del primo album, il gruppo ha continuato a pubblicare altri dischi, ma non hanno mai raggiunto lo stesso livello di popolarità.
